Dishwasher Woes: New Cabinet

Before and After:

It finally happened: The old dishwasher gave up the ghost. It clunked and chunked, and generally didn't really clean well any more, so we had to replace it.

Colour Catalyst - Room Revision

Well, adding a naked Burt Reynolds picture was a good start!! Check out that post here.

However, some things just don't sit right, but you live with them for a while until you have the time or inclination to change them.

Before

For me, it was the grey curtains in our bedroom. I really wanted to see white curtains, but certainly not if the wall was white... And down the rabbit hole we goooooooooo.

Dapper Dresser

We picked up this free Kijiji dresser almost a year ago. It was the perfect size for M's room. Plus, it has mid-century lines that I love.

BEFORE

It came with some minor damage, but after a humidifier leaked, it wreaked havoc on the top...
Well, crap!

This gave me the opportunity to finally do something fun with this dresser.

Mini Project: Making Contact

Mini Project time!
Enter our 12 year old night stand tables. They've moved to three new houses, even trekking across the country. And because of this, they are in pretty sad shape now.

And since they are in sad shape, it is perfect item to try something fun and cost-effective.

Sneak Peek: Mid Century Credenza

Remember when I posted about those free chairs?
I spy with my little eye, something that is awesome... right there... behind them!

Those cabinets/credenzas were rescued by my boss a year or so ago, and have been languishing by the back door since then. They are just too great to throw away, but alas, no one had time to spend on them... until me.

Living Room: Paint and Planters

Though this was the very first room to receive paint, I haven't gotten around to completing it. And it still isn't done, but I thought I would share some of my progress.

Back when I was still in Ottawa, I pulled together a 5 minute colour concept, that I still liked (with a little tweaking) even after we got possession of the house.

New House: 1966 Time Capsule

We absolutely loved our last home, which was a big brick Victorian farmhouse built in 1874. It was stunning, and it was where this blog was born.

Our new adventure begins with a move to the other side of the country and a new and vastly different type of home. We bought a 1966 time capsule. We love the vibe and many of the original features, but there are definitely many upgrades that need to be done.
