Recipe: Sweet and Spicy Salmon Avocado Toast

I am obsessed with avocado toast right now.
Apparently, so is everyone else... a simple Google search shows a plethora of avocado toast recipes...
So, I thought I would throw my hat in the ring and see if it appeals to anyone else!

I absolutely love it, maybe you will too.

Ingredients:
12 grain bread
Avocado
Ajvar
Candied smoked salmon

I mix my avocado with Mrs. Dash extra spicy and some honey sea salt. Also, I like my avocado chunky, so I tend to chop it rather than mash, but you should do what feels right to you.

Toast your bread, add ajvar sauce (or harissa sauce... Mmmm), add your avocado mixture, and top with the candied smoked salmon. The spiciness of the ajvar with the sweetness of the salmon is so delicious.

Millie thinks it is pretty great too (minus the ajvar)...

Last weekend, I subbed a sunny side egg instead of the salmon, and it was just divoon!

  1. Ohhhhh toast with avocado and a poached egg = my heaven right now. I've never actually heard of candied salmon! I must see if I can find some as I know Robert would absolutely love that for breakfast.

    1. Candied salmon is smoked with maple syrup and brown sugar... and other spices. Very good. Excellent in a traditional way (bagel/cream cheese) or with spicy food. Speaking of which the ajvar I could eat on everything.

  2. Um, everything about this! Love smoked and candied salmon. And harissa. And avocado toast. So this combo sounds about perfect.

    1. Thanks! The sweet and spicy balance each other quite nicely. I am a little crazy with the harissa since though... I put that stuff on everything.
